FlashChip
Disk IDE Card Overview
FlashChip DISK is
a flash-memory-based device for mass data storage. Being different
from the conventional IDE, the flash technology can maximize
the capacity of the disk in a minimum size. It uses ATA controller
chip and true IDE interface that is electronically compatible
with an IDE disk drive. The Non-volatile design requires no
battery and external power to maintain data stored. A solid-state
feature offers very high access performance, which shortens
mechanical seek and rotation time. It may also offer very
high data transfer capability. Furthermore, the true plug-and-play
function allows high performance but low power consumption,
and the rugged mechanical layout resists shock and vibration.
With those characteristics,
nowadays, FlashChip Disk is widely applied to industrial PC
and special devices for mass data storage.
