DDR Overview
Double Data Rate (DDR) SDRAM is the latest Memory Module technology
approved by Joint Electron Device Engineering Council (JEDEC).
The size and structure are similar to conventional Single
Data Rate (SDR) SDRAM module but works differently. With a
one-open-key and 184-pins PCB design, DDR module reads data
on both the upper and lower frequencies of each clock cycle,
which stands for the data rate is doubled. It may also burst
the peak bandwidth up to 2.1GB(DDR266, 133MHz) per second.
DDR module can deliver superior memory performance, and its
low 2.5V operating voltage is complied with Stub Series Terminated
Logic - 2 (SSTL-2) standard.
There is no doubt that DDR module is a perfect design for
a variety of applications, which need mass-capacity and high-speed
data storage.
